Arsenal catch up ground
 Women's Football News 11 Jul 2016
Arsenal 2 (van de Donk 11, Nobbs 55) Notts County 0
Arsenal made up ground on the top two and moved themselves back into third place after a goal in each half gave them victory over Notts County.
Jordan Nobbs had the best chance of the early stages when she expertly controlled veteran striker Kelly Smith's cross but her shot was blocked by Laura Bassett.
In the tenth minute, an inch perfect ball by Nobbs from deep inside her own half set Danielle van de Donk through on goal, the Dutch international showing great composure to finish neatly past Megan Walsh.
Ten minutes after the break, Nobbs capped off a stunning team goal when she found herself unmarked in the box and sumptuously curled the ball home.
County should have reduced the arrears in the 71st minute when Jess Clarke headed wide from a Jo Potter cross, and Lady Pies boss Rick Passmoor was left rueing his side's missed opportunities.
Arsenal: Sari Van Veenendaal, Alex Scott (sub Emma Mitchell 76mins), Fara Williams, Casey Stoney, Vicky Losada, Jordan Nobbs (sub Marta Corredera 72mins), Kelly Smith (sub Natalia Pablos Sanchon 83mins), Jemma Rose, Dominique Janssen, Danielle van de Donk. Subs not used: Emma Byrne, Vyan Sampson, Katie McCabe, Asisat Oshoala.

Notts County: Megan Walsh, Danielle Buet (sub Aileen Whelan 90mins), Fern Whelan, Jess Clarke, Rachel Williams, Ellen White, Jo Potter, Jade Moore, Amy Turner (sub Aivi Luik 77mins), Angharad James (sub Leanne Crichton 76mins), Laura Bassett.
