Sheffield FC 1 (Michalska 24) Everton 0
Jodie Michalska's first half goal handed improving Sheffield FC a battling 1-0 victory over Everton in FA WSL 2 and put a dent in their promotion challenge.
In a game that lacked regular goalmouth action, it was the experienced Jodie Michalska who made the difference midway through the first half, cutting in on her left foot to curl a shot past Kirstie Levell after Hannah Dale's cross had run through to her.
Everton responded to Michalska's opener and should have equalised just before the break but Krystle Johnston fired wide from point blank range after Claudia Walker crossed from the left hand side.
The visitors couldn't find a way through Sheffield during the second half and had to play out the final few minutes with ten players as Gabrielle George was given two yellow cards in quick succession.
