Durham back in top three - 11 Jul 2016 - Women's Football NewsDurham Women 3 (McFadden 39, Salicki 67, Eadon 72) Aston Villa 0
Durham kept up their promotion challenge in FA WSL 2 with a victory over Aston Villa which takes them back up into third place in the table.
Beth Hepple blazed Durham's first chance over the bar but the Wildcats took the lead five minutes before the break as Sarah Eadon and debutant Emily Roberts' excellent interplay allowed Sarah McFadden to curl in a wonderful effort.
Durham continued to press in the second half, Chloe Macek's cross found Eadon inside the area and her shot was deflected wide by Hannah George. However from the resulting corner, Rebecca Salicki rose highest to head home and make it 2-0.
Four minutes later, Durham captain Sarah Wilson thundered a volley against the bar before Eadon nodded the ball over the line as she too scored her first goal for the club.
