Doncaster Rovers Belles 0 Birmingham City 1 (Linnett 61)
Birmingham City are within three points of the top of WSL 1 after substitute Kirsty Linnett gave them the points against a Doncaster Rovers Belles side which suffered another narrow defeat.
After a first half low on chances, Birmingham went ahead just after the hour, Linnett slotting home past Nicola Hobbs just thirty seconds after coming on.
Worse was to come for the Belles when influential striker Jess Sigsworth went down with a knee injury and appeared to make matters worse when she tried to return to the field - Belles had already lost Emily Simpkins in the first half.
Katrin Omarsdottir was twice denied one-on-one by Sophie Baggaley and Christie Murray missed a late chance to leave the Belles winless in the league and bottom of the table, whilst the Blues kept their ninth clean sheet in eleven matches.
