It has been a busy summer at Stevenage Ladies following their Eastern Region League title success and subsequent promotion to the FA Women's Premier League.
The club has a new management team with Gary Bailey taking over as the new First Team manager, assisted by Reece Buck. Jorden Gibson and Chris Green are Coach and Goalkeeping coach respectively, while Dave Potter will manage the Reserves with Chris Brown as Coach.
"We have also had to change our home venue for the first team due to the ground criteria required to play in the FAWPL," said Dave Potter, who is also Chairman. "Our new home ground is the much improved Hertingfordbury Park Stadium in Hertford.
"We have had a few players leave and new players join us during the summer and have also signed some up and coming talent within the area, who we feel will all do great things in the ladies game.
"Rebecca Scola, Kristina O'Connell, Leah Dunnage, Daniela Martucci, Daisy Jenkins, Stephanie Mann (on a dual signing agreement), Becky Day and Becky Scott have all signed along with three 16-year-olds who are keen to learn in Rosy Wodhams, Bolu Fisher and Lisa Milliken."
As for pre-season, both teams have been doing very well with wins against Denham Res, Colney Heath, Harlow Town and Hemel Hempstead whilst both lost to MK Dons (and reserves) respectively.
Stevenage will play their first ever Premier League match this coming Sunday, when they are at home to Enfield Town in South East Division One.
"We are looking forward to the season but we know it's going to be hard," added Potter. "We have all been putting in the work during the summer and are up for the challenge."
