Blackpool Wren Rovers captain Leah Hinchliffe is quietly confident that they can build on last season's finish in Northern Division One of the FA Women's Premier League.
The Wrens ended up in eighth place in their first season back in the league and Leah admitted to Women's Soccer Scene: "Pre-season is going really well for us.
"We had a few injuries towards the end of last season, which took a massive effect on the team with us losing points in games we should have really been taking three points away from.
"It's great to have Caroline Wilcock back from her spell in the Deaf World Cup with Great Britain, even better that she came back with a bronze medal! We have signed two players from Blackpool Ladies FC which is always nice as they're our local rivals! The two signings have settled in well to the first team and look like they will fit in well to the FA Women's Premier League.
"The girls have been back training now for seven weeks and even though we haven't got a manager and are currently looking for one, the girls seem to be motivated and are keeping the team's morale up! It's another season down at Poolfoot Farm (Fleetwood Town FC's training ground), the facilities there are great.
"The team have played in two pre-season friendlies so far and one tournament. We beat Penrith Ladies 4-1 and drew 3-3 with Burnley Ladies and also took the winners and runners-up medals at the Morecambe tournament.
"We are looking forward to the campaign ahead and are hoping to have another good season in the FA WPL."
