St Nicholas are approaching the new season with greater confidence after re-structuring during the summer.
Kevin Cooper has now left the first team after over ten years as physio, to take charge of the ladies reserves team. "This is a club strategy as we look to develop the reserve team to feed the first team," says secretary Iain Prior.
"A few players have left the first team, three have moved to newly promoted Brislington, one is playing only Uni football and one has moved to the reserves. Two players who have recently left the Army and are relocating back to Yate, have joined the first team. Both of them represented the Army and their local regional team.
"Two ex-St Nicholas youth players, Jodie Arkell and Anna Denning, who were on the Filton SGS football programme, have rejoined the club and the first team squad.
"Abby Evans joins the squad as goalkeeper. She is another ex-St Nicholas youth player who played college and development football for Bristol Academy before going to uUniversity in America on a football scholarship for three years. Chloe Brown meanwhile has signed from Bristol Ladies Union.
"Our squad is definitely stronger this season and we can't wait to get the league campaign underway."
