Newly promoted Middlesbrough kept up their impressive start to the new season by winning 2-0 away to Bradford City.
Bianca Owens gave 'Boro a first half lead which was doubled after the break by Ellie Dobson to secure their second straight win and see them head a trio at the top on six points.
Fylde Ladies also backed up their opening day win with another success, 2-0 over Champions West Bromwich Albion. Danielle Young put the Coasters in front and an own goal wrapped up the points late on.
Derby County are the third team with two wins out of two, emerging as 2-0 victors from their local derby with Nottingham Forest. Sam Griffiths and Lisa Giampalma scored the goals which maintain Derby's good start.
Huddersfield Town's first match of the season culminated in a 3-3 draw with Blackburn Rovers. Town led at the break with goals from Isabel Thomas and Kate Mallin before Rovers, who had earlier scored through Saffron Jordan, equalised with a strike by Faye McCoy. Katie Nutter then put Huddersfield ahead with five minutes remaining but Blackburn hit back once again to earn themselves a share of the spoils, thanks to Jordan's second goal on the day.
There were also plenty of goals at Leicester City Women's first home game back in the division, as they won 5-3 against Stoke City. Lauren Impey led the scoring for Leicester with a hat-trick and she was joined on the scoresheet by Rosie Axten and Kayleigh Hillier, with Stoke replying through Lucy Ridgway, Hannah Keryakoplis and Meg Bowyer.
