C & K Basildon meanwhile defeated Queen's Park Rangers 4-0 to complete the top three. Sara Sinclair led the scoring by hitting a hat-trick and Hannah Porter added the other goal.
Cardiff City Ladies and Lewes met for the second time in three weeks and in contrast to the 1-1 draw they shared first time out, Cardiff ran out 6-0 winners on this occasion. Kerry Bartlett, Abbie Britton, Chloe Chivers, Chloe Lloyd, Cori Williams and Bethan Lloyd were all on the scoresheet as Cardiff inflicted a first defeat of the season on the Rookettes.
Coventry Utd also remain unbeaten after they won 1-0 against West Ham Utd, who are still seeking their first points. Helen Dermody settled matters with the only goal of the game just after the hour mark.
It was a red letter day for Swindon Town as they registered their first victory following promotion, edging out Portsmouth in a seven-goal thriller. Chyna Collings netted two of the goals for Swindon along with Abby Picton and Alison Witts, with Charlotte Benson, Gemma Hillier and Samantha Quayle all replying for Portsmouth.
