Three out of three for Abergavenny
 Women's Football News 19 Sep 2016
Welsh Premier Women's League leaders Abergavenny Town made it three wins out of three after they triumphed 2-1 away to Cardiff City FC.
It was the home side who took the lead just before half time through a goal from Chelsea Cochrane but after the break, Alana Murphy levelled the scores for Abergavenny who went on to take the points when leading scorer Lyndsey Davies found the net with fifteen minutes remaining.
Swansea City are gathering pace and are up into second following their 8-0 victory over newly promoted Briton Ferry Llansawel. Stacey John led the scoring for the Swans with a hat-trick and there was one apiece from Lowri Ridings, Emma Beynon, Katy Hosford, Alicia Powe and Courtney Thomas.
Aberystwyth Town complete the top three after they defeated Port Talbot Town 2-0. The first half ended goalless but within a minute of the restart, Aber were ahead thanks to Amy Jenkins. Kelly Thomas went on to seal the points and a first victory of the season for Aberystwyth, when she scored their second goal.
Champions Cardiff Met Ladies belatedly started their season by travelling to Llandudno Ladies, who started the day in second place. Erin Murray and Emily Allen ensured that Met led by two goals at the break, before Chloe O'Connor rounded off the win with two second half strikes.
Cyncoed Ladies made the long trip north to take on Rhyl Ladies, who were playing their opening match, and returned with their first victory of the season. Alice Griffiths put Cyncoed ahead early on, with Rhyl equalising before the break through Laura Williams. Two late goals secured the points for Cyncoed, Griffiths netting her second before Fern Burrage completed a 3-1 win.
