Birmingham City 2 (Schroder 50, Harrop 70) Liverpool 1 (Zelem pen 63)
Birmingham City moved back above Liverpool into fourth place and will head off to next week's Continental Tyres Cup Final on a winning note.
The game burst into life with three goals inside twenty hectic second half minutes as Corina Schroder shone on her first Blues appearance by slotting her side into a 50th minute lead against her former club from twelve yards out after sustained pressure on the Liverpool goal.
However a rash challenge by Chloe Peplow on Rosie White just inside the Blues area gave Katie Zelem the chance to level the scores with her sixth goal of the season from the penalty spot.
The visitors kept on pushing as Laura Coombs saw her corner turned onto the Birmingham bar by goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley in the first half whilst Kirsty Linnett headed wide from point blank range at the other end.
It was Birmingham who were to take the points though when Kerys Harrop scored with a glancing header from Jess Carter's long throw into the area.
