Swansea City moved to within two points of the leadership in the Welsh Premier Women's League with a 3-1 victory over Llandudno Ladies.
With leaders Abergavenny Women not having a game, Emma Beynon boosted the Swans' hopes of narrowing the gap by giving them the lead midway through the first half. Stacey John made it two after the break and although Kelsey Davies renewed Llandudno hopes by pulling one back with fifteen minutes remaining, Beynon settled any nerves with her second goal on the day to seal the points.
Cardiff City FC are in third but needed to work very hard to beat newly promoted Briton Ferry Llansawel 5-3. Shannon Evans netted twice to put the Bluebirds two ahead during the first half but the visitors battled back strongly, Renee Day and Lucy Powell levelling the scores by the interval. Jenni Buckley restored City's lead but two minutes later, Briton Ferry equalised once again through Mollie Jones. It looked as though Briton Ferry would record a notable result until the final six minutes, when Evans completed her hat-trick and Danielle Green added a fifth to finally secure the win for City.
Cardiff Met Ladies follow on after winning 4-0 away to Aberystwyth Town. Met took a first half lead through Robyn Pinder and two goals in an eight minute spell from Emily Allen and Jassie Vasconcelos put them firmly in control, before Erin Murray wrapped up the win in injury time.
Rhyl Ladies meanwhile won for the first time, 3-1 against Port Talbot Town who are still searching for their first victory. Laura Williams' first half strike Rhyl was cancelled out by Terri Beddows before the break but two second half goals from Ashleigh Mills ensured that Rhyl got off the mark for the season.
