Chelsea 3 (Aluko 19,68, Borges 55) Reading FC Women 2 (Bruton 64, Fletcher 90)
Chelsea secured the runners-up spot in WSL 1 and will play in the UEFA Women's Champions League again next season after getting the better of a plucky Reading FC Women side by the odd goal in five.
In a rollercoaster clash at Staines Town, two goals from Eniola Aluko either side of Ana Borges' strike put Chelsea ahead - but they were pegged back by a Lauren Bruton penalty in the second half.
Fran Kirby - returning from injury as a substitute - had a flurry of late chances against her old club, but Melissa Fletcher curled into the right corner late on for Reading to reduce arrears.
The Royals had had plenty of chances to score during the game with Hedvig Lindahl denying Emma Follis but Chelsea were able to pick up the result they needed to put themselves beyond the reach of third placed Arsenal.
