Durham Women 2 (Gutteridge 32, Hepple 42) Millwall Lionesses 1 (Gaylor 90)
Durham Women finished their best season so far in the WSL on a winning note and in fourth place in the table.
On a bitterly cold day in the North East, the home side set about their task and were two to the good by half time, Natalie Gutteridge netting in the 32nd minute before Beth Hepple doubled the lead ten minutes later.
Gutteridge was on hand to find the bottom corner from six yards just after the half hour mark following an accurate Nicola Gibson cutback from the right.
Hepple, who had been involved in the build up to that goal, wouldn't be denied a spot on the scoresheet, running off her marker before lashing an unstoppable effort across goal and into the far corner from the edge of the box.
In a game of few clear chances, Hepple put a second-half penalty over the bar before, with one of the last kicks of the game, Amber Gaylor collected Ashlee Hincks' pass across the box to fire into the net for the visitors.
