Sunderland 1 (Mead 67) Birmingham City 7 (Harrop 35, Linnett 36,49,57, Wellings 45, Ayisi 70, Haines 77)
Birmingham City took fourth place in the WSL 1 table as they rounded off their season with a six-goal victory at the Hetton Centre, spearheaded by a Kirsty Linnett hat-trick.
The 23-year-old forward struck twice after half time to complete a brilliant treble, with the second a 35-yard wonder goal that left Sunderland goalkeeper Hilde Gunn Olsen with no chance.
Kerys Harrop had earlier opened the scoring for Birmingham while Charlie Wellings, Freda Ayisi, and Coral Haines all put gloss on the win.
The hosts did give their fans something to cheer about on 67 minutes, striker Beth Mead finding space 25 yards out before firing a shot in off the bar.
