Middlesbrough opened up a three point lead at the top of the Northern Division, thanks to an 8-3 victory away to Nottingham Forest.
Emily Scarr was on target five times, to take her league tally for the season to 11, whilst leading scorer Bianca Owens weighed in with a brace and recent signing Emma Kelly added the other goal. Spare a thought for Forest captain Andi Bell who hit a hat-trick and ended up on the losing side.
Newcastle Utd picked up an important point when they battled out a goalless draw against fourth placed Bradford City.
The other game between Fylde Ladies and Derby County also finished 0-0, the result meaning that the teams remain in fourth and fifth place respectively.
One match was played in the Southern Division on Sunday, at C & K Basildon where visitors Coventry Utd ran out 3-0 winners. Amber Hughes gave Coventry the lead on the stroke of half time, before Alison Hall and Hughes added second half goals to crown a victory which takes their team up to third place.
