Scotland kick off double header with draw
 Women's Football Scotland International News - 23 Jan 2017
Denmark 2 Scotland 2
Scotland kicked off their double header of friendlies against Denmark with an entertaining 2-2 draw following an impressive second half performance.
Scotland fell 1-0 behind early on in the game after a lacklustre clearance allowed Denmark to cross the ball into the box where Pernille Harder finished beyond Gemma Fay.
Scotland were quick to respond though and were level with 21 minutes on the clock. Kim Little provided the pass to Jane Ross who was able to unleash a shot from outside the box and found the target with an exquisite finish.
Anna Signeul's team received a blow before the half hour mark when Gemma Fay was forced to leave the field with a leg injury after being caught following an aerial battle. Shannon Lynn took her place and her first job was to pick the ball out the back of the net.
The scorer of the first, Harder, played through a clever pass which Johanna Rasmussen latched on to and was able to slide the ball beyond Lynn.
At the break, Signeul made four changes with Arnot, Corsie, Cuthbert and Crichton all coming on. Having recently signed for Chelsea, from Glasgow City, Erin Cuthbert looked impressive and continually harried the Denmark defence. After 72 minutes she blasted the ball home off the crossbar with a thunderous finish.
She then smashed the upright and was denied a late winner.
Scotland now take on Denmark again on Monday, kick off 11am (9am UK time).
Afterwards, Erin Cuthbert told www.scottishfa.co.uk: "I was delighted with my goal. It was a gut reaction to hit it as soon as I got it.
"I was frustrated not to get the second but everything doesn't always go your way in football.
"Denmark are tough opposition but we more than matched them and showed that we're good enough to go one better and win on Monday."
Scotland: Gemma Fay (sub Shanon Lynn), Emma Mitchell (sub Lizzie Arnot), Frankie Brown, Jennifer Beattie, Ifeoma Dieke (sub Rachel Corsie), Leanne Ross (sub Erin Cuthbert), Kim Little, Caroline Weir (sub Leanne Crichton), Hayley Lauder, Fiona Brown (sub Clare Emslie), Jane Ross. Subs not used: Rachel Harrison, Joanne Love, Lisa Evans, Joelle Murray, Lizzie Arnot, Lana Clelland, Kirsty McLaughlin.
