Oxford United have strengthened their squad ahead of the forthcoming FA WSL Spring Series with the signing of midfielder Emily Donovan.
Emily, who is 19 years old, signed a contract last week to join the U's from Yeovil Town where she was part of the squad that won the FA WSL 2 title last season.
"I'm really excited to have signed for Oxford," she told the club's website. "I can't wait to kick off the Spring Series on Sunday.
"I know it will take time for me to settle in and get used to a new set up, but everyone has made me feel welcome and I'm really optimistic that Oxford are putting everything in place for a successful season and I want to be an integral part of that."
Midfielder Emily joins a new look United side under new coach Karl Milgate and in a new league, where ten teams compete through to the start of summer before a new WSL2 season is launched in August.
"The Spring Series is a chance for us to work on the improvements we need to make in order to push us up the table when the Winter season starts" Emily said. "Everyone connected with the team, and particularly me as a new player, has a lot of hard work to do if we are to reach our potential but this is a challenge we are all ready to take on."
Although they were knocked out of the SSE Women's FA Cup over the weekend, there was good news for the club in that last season's leading goalscorer, Ini Umotong, has signed a new deal with the club, as has teenage defender Riva Casley.
