Wales name Under-17 squad

Wales Women's Under-17 welcome Hungary to Merthyr Town FC in a double header of international friendly fixtures in a bid to prepare ahead of their Elite Round involvement in March.
Wales Women's Under-17 face Norway, Denmark and group hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina in the UEFA Women's Under-17 Championships elite round on March 20, 22 and 25. The Wales Women's squad will travel to Bosnia in March to compete in the elite round of the UEFA Women's EURO tournament in a bid to reach the finals for the first time in their history.
The first match of the double header will be played next Tuesday, 14th February with a 3pm kick off, then the teams will meet again two days later on Thursday 16th February, kick off 11am.
Wales will hope to be one of seven teams who have an opportunity to join hosts in Czech Republic for the Finals from 2nd to 14th May 2017. The six group winners and the runner-up with the best record against their first and third opponents in their pool will secure a qualification spot in the finals.
Wales Women's Under-17 qualified for the Elite Round of the UEFA Women's Under-17 Championships after a draw with hosts Latvia in their final game, having beaten Turkey in the opener and then losing to group winners Germany.
The point against the hosts confirmed a second place finish in Group Seven and this became the third time that Wales qualified for the Elite Round of this competition, with the previous occasions being in 2009 and 2011.
