Tottenham Hotspur are back on top of the Southern Division at the first attempt, thanks to a 2-0 victory over Lewes.
Wendy Martin netted both goals to see Spurs return as leaders and with a lead of two points.
Cardiff City Ladies started the day as leaders but went down to their first defeat of the season, beaten 2-0 by Charlton Athletic who move up into second. Kit Graham scored a goal in each half to give a large boost to the Addicks' title challenge.
Coventry Utd are a further point adrift in third as they also recorded a 2-0 victory, away to Queen's Park Rangers. Both goals came just before half time, Ashleigh Neville giving Coventry the lead with Alison Hall adding the second.
West Ham Utd picked up a valuable point from a 1-1 draw against Portsmouth. Molly Peters was on target for the Hammers, who are off the bottom as a result, with Gemma Hillier grabbing a late equaliser for Pompey.
