Cardiff City Ladies returned to the top of the Southern Division after scoring eight times without reply against Swindon Town.
With Tottenham Hotspur and Coventry Utd on SSE Women's FA Cup duty, and Charlton Athletic not playing, a win was likely to take Cardiff back to the summit and Swindon may have caught the backlash from their first defeat of the season, seven days earlier. Cori Williams led the scoring with a hat-trick, Chloe Chivers and Kerry Bartlett netted two apiece and Abbie Britton was also on the scoresheet.
Lewes meanwhile continued their improving form by winning 2-0 away to Queen's Park Rangers and this result has taken them into sixth place. Both goals came during the second half, Danielle Lane giving the Rookettes the lead seven minutes after the restart, and Kellie Larkin wrapping up the win with the second.
