Good day for Tottenham
 Women's Football WPL South News - 15 Mar 2017
It was a good day for Tottenham Hotspur as they took control of the title race with a narrow 1-0 win away to Charlton Athletic.
Wendy Martin scored the only goal of the game to take Spurs back to the top of the table with a two point lead over their opponents.
Tottenham were further boosted by the news that Cardiff City Ladies went down to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of C & K Basildon. Angela Addison, Jay Blackie and Zoe Rushen were all on target for C & K while Cardiff's replies came from Kerry Bartlett and Chloe Chivers.
West Ham Utd and Swindon Town met in a vital clash at the other end of the table for the second time in three weeks and, as with the first meeting, the game ended in a 2-2 draw. Swindon twice took the lead during the first half with goals from Georgia Walters and the Hammers hit back on each occasion with equalisers from Molly Peters and Dayna Chong, which leaves the sides level on points and three ahead of Queen's Park Rangers, both teams having played two games more.
