Blackburn Rovers require one more point to be confirmed as Champions after Leicester City Women were held to a 2-2 draw by Huddersfield Town.
Leicester needed nothing less than a victory to keep their hopes alive and started the game well with Shauna Cossens putting them ahead with nine minutes on the clock. Katie Nutter levelled matters just after the half hour but an own goal restored Leicester's lead as half time approached. With fifteen minutes remaining, Kate Mallin struck to extend Huddersfield's unbeaten league run to four games and register their third successive 2-2 draw.
Derby County replaced Fylde Ladies in third place, one position above Leicester, after beating the Lancashire side 5-0. Lisa Giampalma and Melissa Johnson gave Derby a two-goal lead going into the break and in the second half, Nicole Dale also got on the scoresheet before Giampalma netted her second and an own goal completed the scoring to give Derby their third straight win and keep their outside chance of the runners-up spot alive.
Nottingham Forest moved out of the bottom two by winning 2-1 against Bradford City. Andi Bell's first half goal for Forest was cancelled out by Hannah Campbell and the game appeared to heading towards a draw until Charlotte Broad grabbed the winner, deep into injury time.
