Middlesbrough secured the runners-up spot in the Northern Division in their first season after promotion, thanks to a 4-2 victory over Huddersfield Town.
Bianca Owens and Emily Scarr ensured that 'Boro led at the break, with Kate Mallin replying, then Mallin levelled the scores five minutes into the second half. Jessica Havelock put 'Boro back in front once again before Owens wrapped up the points with her second goal.
Blackburn Rovers hit the 50-point mark and are two games away from an unbeaten league season after they ran out 4-0 winners away to Derby County. Rovers led at half time through a goal from Ellie Cook and they went on to add further strikes after the break from Saffron Jordan and an Ella Toone double.
Stoke City moved to within one point of third placed Fylde Ladies following their 4-1 success away to Newcastle Utd. Millie Elson and Jamilla Palmer netted first half goals for Stoke, Becca Hanson responding for the home side, before a late brace from Kate Asher sealed the victory.
Leicester City Women meanwhile maintained their chances of a top three finish by beating Nottingham Forest 2-1. Two first half goals from Sophie Domingo were enough to give Leicester the points, despite Andi Bell grabbing a late consolation for Forest.
Bradford City occupy the mid-table position following their 2-1 win against West Bromwich Albion. Laura Elford kept up her good form in front of goal by netting twice, with Lowri Walker replying.
