Tottenham Hotspur moved themselves to within one win from securing the Southern Division title after they won 2-1 against third placed Cardiff City Ladies.
Wendy Martin and Nikita Whinnett were on target for Spurs while Cardiff, whose own title chances were virtually ended by the defeat, replied through Cori Williams.
Crystal Palace guaranteed themselves a top five finish by winning 5-2 away to Portsmouth. Gemma Bryan took her league total for the season to 27 with a four-goal blast and Rosie Paye was also on the scoresheet, with Samantha Quayle and Natasha Stephens replying (see match report).
West Ham Utd picked up a precious point from a goalless draw against Lewes. The result means that the Hammers move out of the bottom two whilst Lewes boosted their chances of ending up in sixth place ahead of this week's Premier League Plate Final.
West Bromwich Albion defeated Leicester City Women 1-0 in the only game to be played in the Northern Division on Sunday. A win would have taken Leicester into third place but a goal four minutes from time by Olivia Mitcham gave Albion a result which lifts them out of the bottom three and kept their own top three hopes alive.
