Tottenham Hotspur clinched the Southern Division title earlier in the week but they will not end the campaign with an unbeaten record after going down 3-2 to Charlton Athletic.
Goals from Gemma Shepherd, Kit Graham and Avilla Bergin boosted the Addicks' hopes of claiming the runners-up spot, Anoria Georgiou replying for Spurs along with an own goal.
Cardiff City Ladies are four points behind Charlton, with two goals in hand, after an emphatic 12-1 victory against Queen's Park Rangers. Emily Allen, Hope Suominen, Cori Williams and Laura Williams all bagged doubles for the South Wales side, with Kerry Bartlett, Chloe Chivers, Chloe Lloyd and an own goal completing their tally. An own goal proved to be a consolation for Rangers, who are still three points behind at the bottom.
Coventry Utd are a further two points adrift following their narrow 1-0 success against Crystal Palace. Alison Hall grabbed the only goal of the game for Coventry, shortly before half time.
Swindon Town remain in the bottom two after they were beaten 3-0 by C & K Basildon. Therese Addison, Zoe Rushen and Angela Addison all scored for C & K to move them closer towards the top six.
