Hibernian kept up their fine start to the new SWPL 1 season with a 3-1 victory away to previously unbeaten Celtic.
After a goalless first half, Rachael Small gave Hibs the lead within three minutes of the restart and Abi Harrison headed home the second shortly afterwards. Celtic gave themselves hope when Natalie Ross pulled one back from the penalty spot but Hibs were not to be denied and Katey Turner sealed the points with eleven minutes remaining.
Hibernian stay two points in front of Glasgow City who were also 3-1 winners away to Hamilton Academical. City took the lead midway through the first half with a goal from Noelle Murray and Lauren McMurchie doubled their advantage just two minutes later. Hamilton struck back quickly and Mhairi Lyle reduced the arrears but Brogan Hay earned City their third win in four matches when she scored their third, twenty minutes from time.
Spartans made sure of keeping pace with the leading sides, thanks to a 1-0 victory against Stirling University. Colette Cavanagh scored the only goal of the game as the Edinburgh side kept up their impressive start.
There was also one goal on offer at Rangers where the home side ended their losing run of three games with a 1-0 win over Aberdeen, who themselves are still looking for their first victory. Both teams went close in a match which looked to be heading towards a goalless draw until deep into injury time, when Claire Adams scored with a strike from the edge of the area to get Rangers off the mark.
