Regional Leagues round-up...
 Women's Football Regional Premier North East News - 5 May 2017
East Midlands League
Sheffield Utd clinched the Premier Division title with a 6-1 victory over Ruddington Village. Alex Hickerman, Tania Marsden, Rachel Ruddach, Jennifer Pearson, Natalie Froggatt and Kim Brown were all on the scoresheet to put United beyond the reach of their rivals. Peterborough Northern Star still have a chance of finishing second and they remain in the running after beating Notts County Development 7-1, Cassie Steward hitting a hat-trick along with Georgia Coulson, Vicky Gallagher, Steph Pepper and Louise Barbour. Laura Beckett was another hat-trick scorer and Brodie Betts was also on target as Kettering Town won 4-2 away to Mansfield Hosiery Mills.
In Division One South, AFC Leicester finished off the campaign on a good note, following up a midweek victory over Riverside LFC by sharing a 1-1 draw with Corby S & L. Jamie Elday netted Leicester's goal, with Leanne Noonan replying for Corby.
Eastern Region League
The Premier Division season came to a close with Royston Town beating Histon 3-1 in the final match. Grace Leslie (2) and Samantha Tinsley accounted for Royston's goals, with Hannah Gordon replying.
Division One title winners Cambridge City continued on their winning way with a 4-0 success against Hutton. Isabella Simmons netted twice along with Charlotte Gillies and Carla Penny to leave City with a thirteen point lead over their nearest rivals.
London & South East League
Having clinched the league title last week, Leyton Orient are pulling away from the rest and have a lead of five points following their 4-0 victory away to Carshalton Athletic. Sophie Le Marchand was on target twice for the O's, along with Ellie Davies and Danielle Griffiths. Watford Development meanwhile finished their campaign on a winning note, 3-2 against Camden Town. Olivia Syson (2) and Madison Gorton scored the goals for Watford, with Teagen Kopfler and Emily Hammond replying.
North East League
After having finished second for the last three seasons, Barnsley are celebrating being Premier Division Champions as they picked up the win they needed to secure the title. Brittany Sanderson, Rebecca Fevers and Kathryn Smith scored the goals to give Barnsley a 3-0 win against Oughtibridge and take them above Norton & Stockton Ancients on goal difference. Castleford White Rose look likely to finish third following their 2-1 success away to Wallsend Boys Club, an own goal and Aimi Beresford giving them the points with Elizabeth Campbell replying.
In the Southern Division, Sheffield Wednesday kept themselves in with a chance to take the runners-up spot after they defeated Malet Lambert YC 7-3. Ellis Ridge was on target four times, Stacey Buxton weighed in with a brace and Emily Higgins was also on target, whilst Georgie Warvill hit a hat-trick for Malet.
North West League
On the final day of the league season, Accrington Girls & Ladies moved out of the bottom two places in the Premier Division with a 4-0 victory away to Stockport County. They climbed above City of Manchester who went down to a 6-3 defeat at the hands of MSB Woolton. That result means that Woolton finish in sixth place, just ahead of Blackburn Community who were 2-0 winners over Manchester Stingers.
The Division One South title was decided on the last day and it went the way of Merseyrail Bootle, who beat Liverpool City Ladies Community 7-0. They finish up with a five-point margin over second placed FC United of Manchester, who chased them all the way before their final game ended in a 1-1 draw against third placed Warrington Wolverines. Altrincham ensured they will end up in the top half of the table after they defeated Curzon Ashton 4-2.
South West League
Keynsham Town Development were narrow 2-1 winners over Downend Flyers in their local derby clash. Taylor Gainey and Enya Wilkinson scored the goals for Keynsham, with Downend replying through Amber Coates. Middlezoy Rovers meanwhile defeated Frome Town 3-0, thanks to a Rosie Williams double and Sarah Carling.
Callington Town claimed the runners-up position in the Western Division after scoring ten times without reply past Activate. Kat Marment led the scoring with a four-goal haul, Kate Nicholls weighed in with a hat-trick and there was one apiece from Stacey Derrick, Eleri Griffiths and Sam Veal.
Southern Region League
Chesham Utd finished third in the Premier Division in their first season after promotion after their final game ended in an 8-0 victory over Team Solent. Gemma Fraser and Natasha Smith netted two goals apiece and they were joined on the scoresheet by Michelle Bailey, Sarah Jackson, Paula Lambert and Sian Williams.
The outcome of the Division One title race is still to be decided after New Milton Town moved closer by beating Fleet Town 5-1. Olivia Jones (2), Charlie Pitkin, Nicole Power and Caroline Gray scored the goals to take New Milton to within one point of leaders Ascot Utd and they need to win their final game in order to be crowned as Champions. Barton Rovers meanwhile look to be on course for third following their 3-1 success away to Woodley Utd in which Gemma Sims (2) and Rachel Allwright were on target. Jodie Penny netted twice and Bethan Williams the other for Wargrave Ladies as they battled out a 3-3 draw with Wycombe Wanderers.
West Midlands League
Burton Albion completed the League and Cup 'double' with a 2-1 victory over Coundon Court in the Premier Division Cup Final. Jemma Grimadell and Danielle Read scored the goals for Burton, with Natasha Miles replying.
In the Division One North Cup Final, Stockingford AA Pavilion also completed the League and Cup 'double' by beating Leek Town 5-1. Leek had the better of the first half, taking advantage of the strong gusting wind. However, Stockingford led 2-1 at half time with goals from Maz Hayward and Sharni Turnbull. With the strong breeze at their backs, Stockingford dominated the second half and added a further three goals through Amanda Turnbull, Lois Smalley and Catherine Smith.
Redditch Utd rounded off a good season for themselves by lifting the Division One South Cup, following a 5-1 victory over Solihull Utd in the Final. Ellie Gerhold and Sofi Liperis were both on target twice for Redditch along with Amy Kendall.
One match was played in Division One North, Tamworth edging out Florence by the odd goal in nine.
