Keith commits to Watford
 Women's Football WSL2 News - 12 Jul 2017

Watford FC Ladies is delighted to announce that Keith Boanas and Alberto Kurti will be continuing in their roles as Head Coach and Assistant Coach for the 2017-18 season.

The pair joined the club prior to the start of the FA WSL Spring Series and began the process of turning the Golden Girls' fortunes around.

A three-game unbeaten run was the highlight of the shortened transitional campaign, as the Lady Hornets beat Sheffield FC Ladies and Oxford United Women, while gaining a creditable point against Doncaster Rovers Belles.

The duo are now focused on building on that over a full season.

"Decisions about my career at this stage are never that easy, but the club have been supportive and given me a positive feeling about the future," explained Boanas.

"Having the right support mechanisms around you is key and Alberto fits that perfectly.

"The Spring Series was a fact finding mission and I believe that we found far more positives than negatives.

"We're now looking forward to a full FA WSL season, which is a fresh challenge for both the retained and new players, plus of course the staff.

"Our ambition is to improve as a club and team on and off the pitch, while our aim is to be in there fighting for the title from day one - alongside a decent cup run."

It's a busy week at the club with training getting back underway and the first friendly at the weekend.

Preparations for the new campaign have been put in place and Kurti is fully expecting the Lady Hornets to push on to the next level.

"I really enjoyed working alongside Keith and the squad during the Spring Series. It is very important to have a continuity with the club for the staff and the players," he said.

"The girls showed us during the Spring Series that they can improve further which, combined with a few extra additions in the right areas, will only make us stronger.

"To have the support that the club is giving us, plus the togetherness in our group, can only help push us to the next level."
