Manchester City Women FC is delighted to announce that Megan Campbell has agreed a new contract with the club that will see the Republic of Ireland international remain at the club for another year.
Campbell first joined Manchester City Women in February 2016 following three years playing in the US with the Florida State Seminoles. Since joining City, Campbell, who has 33 international caps, has become a fan favourite and her throw-ins have earned her widespread acclaim.
Whilst at Manchester City, Campbell has been a part of the squad that regained their FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup trophy, became the 2016 Women's Super League champions and won the SSE Women's FA Cup for the first time in the Club's history.
The team also competed in the UEFA Women's Champions League during the 20160-7 season, making it to the semi final stage against current title holders Olympique Lyonnais.
Speaking about her contract extension, Campbell, said: "I have loved every moment at Manchester City and can't wait for next season. Winning the Women's FA Cup at Wembley with the team was a highlight for me this year, especially after having to overcome injury to get there and I'm just happy that I could be a part of helping the squad achieve something so special.
"The support from Nick and all the coaching and backroom staff has been integral to getting me back in form and I'm looking forward to challenging for even more success next season."
Nick Cushing, Head Coach of Manchester City Women, added: "Megan is a young player with a lot of potential. She has come back from injury stronger than ever and shown everyone what she can offer on the pitch, I have been delighted with her performances in the games she played this season and look forward to having her on the team once again when we kick off the new season."
