Frampton Rangers v New Milton Town
 Women's Football FA Women's Cup News - 3 Sep 2017

SSE Women's FA Cup - Road to the Final

Our match in the south pitches Gloucestershire County Women's League side Frampton Rangers up against New Milton Town, of the Southern Region League.

Frampton Rangers are a long established club in youth football in Bristol, coming from Frampton Cotterell district of the city, but last season saw their first step up into senior women's football. They entered Division Two of the Gloucestershire County Women's League and it turned out to be a successful step, winning the title on goal difference after a season long battle with Chipping Sodbury Town.

To round off a great season, Frampton also lifted the Gloucestershire County Cup at the first attempt and also reached the semi finals of the Somerset Junior Women's Cup.

The team is managed by Tony Michael who has been in charge of them since Under-12 level. Shelby Kendall is team captain and last season's leading goalscorer was Abi Todd, closely followed by Maddy Brown.

New Milton Town Ladies (previously AFC Boscombe) are about to start their seventh season in adult football and have celebrated four promotions in that time, the last one being last season's Southern Region League Division One Champions in a nail biting final game away to Barton Rovers.

The team are extremely lucky to boast their own (along with the men's team) excellent facilities at Fawcetts Field, with an enclosed ground, stand and clubhouse, something very rare in the women's game.

They are managed by Lou Fern and the core of the team have been together for many years through the youth section with captain Nicole Power in her tenth season with the club. With a thriving set up with teams from U10s-U16s and a Ladies reserves team, the club has ambitions to reach the very top.

Top club and league scorer Olivia Jones will feature on Sunday as will a few new signings for this season. Last season in the cup, New Milton reached the Third Round Qualifying to where they lost 2-1 after extra time to Premier League side Exeter City.
