Huddersfield Town were unable to take an opportunity to return to the top of the Northern Division as they went down to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of improving West Bromwich Albion.
All of the goals came during the five minute spell ahead of half time, Sarah Danby giving Huddersfield the lead before Albion hit back with two decisive strikes from Leanne Mitchell and Antonia Smith.
Derby County became the first side to take points off Fylde Ladies this season as they held them to a 1-1 draw. Derby looked to have won the game when Camilla Newton gave them the lead with five minutes remaining, but the Coasters hit back to earn themselves a share of the spoils thanks to an equaliser from Lagan Makin.
Wolverhampton Wanderers meanwhile broke their duck as they shared four goals with Guiseley Vixens in an entertaining game between the two newly promoted sides, although both are still seeking their first victory. Wolves took a third minute lead through Leanne Robinson, which they held for over an hour until two opportunist goals from Nikki Berko put matters in Guiseley's hands. Laura McQuilkin curled home a free kick to give Wolves their first point whilst Guiseley recorded their second draw.
