Blackburn Rovers are the new leaders of the Northern Division following their 4-1 win away to Newcastle Utd on Sunday, courtesy of doubles from Leanne Prescott and Georgia Stevens. They lead on goal difference from Middlesbrough who edged out previous table toppers Huddersfield Town by the odd goal in seven, Eve Gatens netting twice along with Holly Manders and Abbey Loughran. Sydney Shugafi (2) and Mya Webb were on target as Sheffield Utd beat Brighouse Town 3-1 to record their first victory as did Hull City, 4-2 at Guiseley Vixens thanks to braces from Eleanor Robinson and Rachael Ackroyd. Bradford City got off the mark with a 6-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers, goals coming from Bryony Hanson (2), Emily McNulty, Lucy Preston, Jade Brindle and Francesca Wild.
Coventry Utd moved to the top of the Midland Division with a 4-0 victory against Nottingham Forest in which Amber Downs (2), Katie Cornish and Lauren Garner were on target. They take over from Stoke City who were held to a 2-2 draw by Cardiff City Ladies, Antonia Carta and Freya Tan scoring for Stoke with Zoe Atkins and Monet Legall replying. Leicester City Women move up into the top four after winning 5-2 at Long Eaton Utd, Gabriella Foulkes and Gracie-Mai Williams each netting twice with Olivia Perrin also on target. West Bromwich Albion scored seven times without reply past TNS Ladies thanks to Lily Eustace (2), Seanna McCann-Lloyd (2), Marianne Taho (2) and Megan Richards, meanwhile Danielle Oxley hat-trick and Kira Rai saw Derby County to a 4-0 victory over Sporting Khalsa.
Portsmouth have opened up a lead of three points in the Southern Division, Kayleigh Tonks hit a hat-trick in their 7-0 win against West Ham Utd with Charmaine True (2), Lucy-Rose Foreman and Eshe Johnson also on target. C & K Basildon's 3-1 success against Queen's Park Rangers has lifted them up to second, Paige Bradley, Sasha Kelly and Jodie Osborne netted their goals. Hayley Clark, Emma Green and Megan Smith all scored as AFC Wimbledon came from behind to beat Milton Keynes Dons 3-2, they also move onto six points. Crystal Palace chalked up their first win, 3-1 away to Denham Utd thanks to Isha Kamara, Renae Thorn and Meadow Barton.
The FA WSL Development League got underway on Sunday and, like their first team, Manchester City got off to a good start with a 4-1 victory over Birmingham City in the Northern Division. Chloe Fisher and Shannon Dukes netted the goals as Everton beat Sheffield FC 2-1 and Sunderland were also 2-1 winners against Liverpool thanks to Georgia Gibson and Katie Barker. Doncaster Rovers Belles and Aston Villa finished level at 1-1, Tanisha Smith scoring Villa's goal.
Tottenham Hotspur's debut match in the Southern Division ended in a 5-1 victory over Reading FC Women, Katie O'Leary netting four times with Eden Bailey adding the other. Arsenal meanwhile defeated Yeovil Town 4-0 thanks to second half strikes from Anne-Marie Filbey, Gabriella Ravenscroft, Miri Taylor and Lachante Paul. Nicole Douglas (2) and Kenni Thompson were the markswomen for Chelsea in their 3-0 win at Watford and Millwall Lionesses beat Brighton & Hove Albion with Lucy Fitzgerald and Samantha Booker on target. Amy Goddard scored the only goal of the game for Bristol City in their 1-0 victory at London Bees.
