Forfar Farmington clinched the SWPL 2 title in style with a 5-1 victory over second placed Motherwell at Station Park.
Farmington went into the game knowing that a win would be enough to put them beyond the reach of their rivals and they were two up inside ten minutes, Danni McGinley and Caroline Heron both finding the net with close range finishes. McGinley then netted her second following a good move and a minute later, Julia Scott broke through to score the fourth. The final goal came in injury time, McGinley completing her hat-trick with a well taken goal in injury time, before Motherwell grabbed themselves a consolation through Pamela Liddell.
Motherwell remain in second as Glasgow Girls went down to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Edinburgh University Hutchison Vale. After a goalless first half, Glasgow went ahead early in the second half but Anna Hume and Nichola Sturrock hit back to give EUHV the three points.
Jeanfield Swifts can still challenge for the runners-up spot and they kept those hopes alive by running out 5-0 winners over East Fife, who are certain to finish in the bottom two following this result. Amy Henderson had a great day for Jeanfield as she scored a hat-trick of headers and she was joined on the scoresheet by Niamh Irvine and Jade McDonald.
Hearts meanwhile secured their place in the division by scoring seven times without reply past Buchan Ladies, who are destined to go down. Michelle Stewart and Danni Pagliarulo each netted twice and there was one apiece from Georgia Hunter, Louise Kerr and Helen Aitchison.
