Manchester City and Chelsea will be up against Scandinavian opposition when they play the Round of 16 in the UEFA Women's Champions League.
Manchester City will travel to Norway for the first leg of their tie as they have been paired with LSK Kvinner. Based in Lillestrom, LSK have been the dominant force in their country in recent season and have just clinched their fifth league title in six seasons. They have not fared quite so well in Europe during this time though, they have matched their best run in the competition this season.
Chelsea will be up against FC Rosengard of Sweden, with the first leg being played at Kingsmeadow. Rosengard have won the title on ten occasions in Sweden and have reached the last eight in the Champions League in five of the last six seasons, but have yet to progress beyond that stage.
Rosengard are captained by Caroline Seger and have several well known players in their squad including Lotta Schelin, Anja Mittag, Lina Nilsson and Sanne Troelsgaard amongst others, as well as England's Anita Asante, who will be coming up against her former club.
There is other British interest in the competition with Lucy Bronze at Olympique Lyonnais, who are away in the first leg to BIIK Kazygurt, who knocked out Glasgow City on away goals in the last round. Toni Duggan and Barcelona are up against Lithuanian side Gintra Universitetas, Ellie Brazil of Fiorentina will face VfL Wolfsburg and former Scotland goalkeeper Gemma Fay (Stjarnan) must play Slavia Prague.
The first legs will be played on 8/9 November, with the return matches taking place a week later.
