Cardiff Met Ladies began their defence of the Orchard Welsh Premier Women's League Cup with a 6-1 victory over Caernarfon Town in the First Round on Sunday.
In one of only two ties to be played, Met made a storming start to the game by scoring three times in the opening ten minutes. Jasmine Simpson netted twice with less than five minutes on the clock and Robyn Pinder added the third, a lead which the Archers took into the half time interval. Caernarfon gave themselves hope when Ffion Owen pulled one back early in the second half but Tija Richardson quickly restored the three-goal advantage and Met went on to crown the win when Erin Murray put them further ahead and Pinder netted her second late on.
Cardiff City FC are the other team through to complete the quarter final line up following a hard earned 3-1 win against Llandudno Ladies. Chelsea Cochrane gave City a first half lead which was cancelled out just before the break by Katie Bowe, but two second half goals from Shannon Evans proved to be enough to give the Bluebirds victory.
The draw for the quarter finals has been made by the league and lines up as follows:
Port Talbot Town v Rhyl Ladies
Caldicot Town v Cardiff Met Ladies
Swansea City v Cyncoed Ladies
Abergavenny Women v Cardiff City FC
all ties to be played on Sunday 3rd December
