Hibernian repeat Cup success
 Women's Football SFA News - 30 Nov 2017
Hibernian 3 Glasgow City 0
Hibernian retained the SSE Scottish Women's Cup with a 3-0 victory over Glasgow City in the Final at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
The result means that all three major domestic trophies in Scotland have been retained this season, with Hibernian once again winning both cups and Glasgow City - who were controversially without their four Republic of Ireland internationals who were on international duty - keeping hold of the league title.
The opening half hour of the game was largely cagey and opportunities were scarce at either end until Lee Alexander made a good diving save to deny Abigail Harrison the opening goal as she flicked a free kick goalwards.
A minute before half time, the deadlock was broken when a corner was floated into the area for Siobhan Hunter whose downward header was parried by Alexander and Harrison reacted quickest to bundle the rebound home from close range and put Hibs in front.
The pattern of the game continued after the break with play largely being even but with the better of the chances going Hibernian's way. Katey Turner hit the side netting and a looping header from Harrison landed on the roof of the net as the holders sought a second goal and the City defence worked hard to keep their side in the game.
With eight minutes remaining, Hibernian were awarded a free kick 35 yards from goal for a foul and Hunter stepped up to drill a glorious strike into the top corner of the net, giving Alexander no chance.
Hibernian went on to put the result beyond doubt late on as, after Rachel McLauchlan's shot came back off the post, Lisa Robertson picked up the rebound and crossed for Rachael Small to head in the third and start off her team's celebrations of another Cup success.
