The severity of the weather across the country over the weekend was reflected in the FA Women's Premier League fixture schedule for Sunday, in which one solitary match out of 18 actually went ahead.
That game was in Northern Division One where Crewe Alexandra played host to Chorley, and it was the visitors who were to run out 4-2 winners and extend their recent good run of form in all competitions.
Crewe took a first half lead through Meg Booth, with Lisa Topping equalising shortly afterwards. Michelle Saunders ensured that Crewe went back in front midway through the second half but once again, Chorley came up with a swift response and Rachel Wood brought them back on level terms. In the last six minutes, Vicky Coope and Madeline Cullin both scored to secure a victory for Chorley which takes them two places up the table and into seventh.
