Regional Leagues round-up...
Women's Football Regional Premier Eastern News - 26 Jan 2018
Eastern Region League
Acle Utd have leapt into the top half of the Premier Division following their 2-1 victory over Colney Heath in the only match played on Sunday. Laura Holden and Megan Todd were on target for Acle, with Colney replying through Nicola Hollick.
One game also survived the weather in Division One North, at Wymondham Town where the home side defeated Cambridge Utd Res to close in on the top two. Laura Nicholls bagged a brace, with Kayleigh Holloway and Mollie O'Callaghan adding the others for third placed Wymondham who still sport an unbeaten record after eight matches.
London & South East League
League leaders Crawley Wasps were not in action on Sunday but second placed AFC Phoenix lost a little ground as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Carshalton Athletic. Both goals came during the second half with Breeze Carmichael on target for Carshalton and Elizabeth Wicks replying for Phoenix who now trail Crawley by five points. In the other game, Fulham FC Foundation claimed their third victory of the season when a first half strike from Chelcee Grimes gave them the points against Eastbourne Town.
North West League
Stockport County have edged further clear at the top of the Premier Division, heading the table by five points after they shared a 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic. One other match went ahead on Sunday and it also ended with honours even, Sir Tom Finney battling out a 2-2 draw with third placed Fleetwood Town Wrens.
Division One North leaders Penrith AFC also had a frustrating day as they were held to a goalless draw by Cumbrian rivals Workington Reds, but the result means they now have a lead of ten points. Morecambe Res meanwhile moved themselves into the top half of the table by winning 2-0 away to Kendal Town, the only team to register a victory in the four league matches which went ahead.
South West League
One match throughout the league managed to beat the weather on Sunday, Buckland Athletic narrowing the gap on Premier Division table toppers Torquay Utd to three points with a 3-0 victory over Exeter City. Hayley Chamberlain, Amber Coates and Carla Staddon scored the goals during the first time to seal the points for Buckland.
Southern Region League
Oxford City moved themselves closer towards the leading sides in the Premier Division after they defeated Newbury Ladies 3-0. Lucy Durham, Rachael Mariam and Tiana Russell-Cartwright were all on target for City.
The only other action was in the Jubilee Cup where Alton Ladies and Winchester City Flyers Res battled out a 1-1 draw. An own goal gave Alton the lead with fifteen minutes remaining but Winchester hit back late on and an injury time strike from Danielle Burgess earned a share of the spoils (see match report).

No matches were played in the East Midlands League, North East League and West Midlands League on Sunday.
