Cardiff book Final date
 Women's Football WFA News - 16 Mar 2018
Cardiff City FC are through to the Final of the FAW Women's Cup following a narrow 1-0 victory over local rivals Cyncoed Ladies.
The first half of the game was a largely end-to-end affair with chances at both ends of the pitch but both goalkeepers were in fine form to keep the scoreline blank during the opening stages.
The deadlock was broken three minutes before half time, when Alana Murphy found the net with a long range chip.
Things were a lot tighter after the break with fewer chances at either end and City stayed resilient to close the game out and book their place in the Final for the third time in four years.
Cardiff will therefore play Swansea City in the Final in a repeat of their meeting in 2015, the Swans winning on that occasion.
