Sheffield United took advantage of a Sunday off from league competition with a home friendly against Huddersfield Town.
Both sides are currently second in their respective leagues but Town one level up from United, making for a good test for the Blades.
Good conditions made for an entertaining game with lots of good football from both sides, United running out 3-2 winners with a hat-trick from Tania Marsden who showed some clinical finishing. United were able to rotate their eleven and used all seventeen players available over the period of the game.
United's two new signings, both England Under-17 internationals, are settling in very well. Attacking wide midfielder Georgia Stevens scored on her debut against Long Eaton recently and had represented her country three times in October 2016 whilst at Blackburn Rovers.
Georgia is joined by centre midfielder Beth O'Donnell, who made her United debut in the Huddersfield game. Beth played seven times for the young Lionesses in the second half of the 2017 season, scoring against Ireland whilst at Manchester City`s Development team.
United manager Carla Ward said of her new signings: "When I heard of their availability I was straight on the phone. Two young players with a huge amount of potential and since coming in they've shown not just the potential, but a real professionalism in themselves too.
"They have settled quickly amongst the girls and I am hoping this is just the start of a long and successful career at United."
