AFC Phoenix closed the gap on leaders Crawley Wasps to five points with a 5-1 victory over Fulham FC Foundation. Elizabeth Wicks was on target twice for Phoenix along with Natalia Mann, Lucy Monkman and Saskia Philp, while Michaela Gooden netted Fulham's consolation.
North West League
Two games managed to beat the weather in the Premier Division, Wigan Athletic moving up into third place by scoring six times without reply past Blackpool. Sir Tom Finney meanwhile defeated Blackburn Community 1-0 with Sam Ball netting the only goal of the game.
In Division One North, Preston North End notched up an important 3-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers Res, a result which takes them off the bottom of the table.
Division One South leaders FC United of Manchester were one of the teams affected and their advantage was trimmed to five points by Liverpool Marshalls Feds Res, who ran out 4-1 winners over Northwich Vixens. West Didsbury & Chorlton meanwhile beat Warrington Wolverines 5-2 to go third, Sarah Penney scoring a hat-trick with Jamila Hodges and Natalie Callaghan adding the others. Altrincham meanwhile had a good day, with a 7-0 victory away to City of Liverpool.
