Stoke City have moved up into second place in the Northern Division, their highest position of the season to date, but their hopes of chasing after leaders Middlesbrough were frustrated as they were held to a goalless draw by Fylde Ladies.
Stoke are now eight points off the pace, with Huddersfield Town a further point behind in third.
Leicester City Women kept their own hopes alive and are back up to fourth following their 4-0 victory away to Nottingham Forest. All of Leicester's goals came in the opening quarter of the game, Rosie Axten giving them a tenth minute lead with Leigh Dugmore quickly adding a second, before Nicole Nymoen and Paige Stewart also got on the scoresheet.
Derby County consolidated their position in the top half by winning 2-0 at Guiseley Vixens, who remain one point behind at the foot of the table. Shannon Weston opened the scoring with fourteen minutes on the clock, with Lauren Cresswell wrapping up the points midway through the second half.
West Bromwich Albion increased the gap between themselves and the bottom two, courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Bradford City. Jennifer Kikomeko netted both goals for Albion, with Bradford's reply coming from Abigail Lee.
