Birmingham City caught up further ground on the top three in FA WSL 1, going up to fourth by winning 2-0 away to Bristol City on Wednesday night.
Ellen White scored an opportunist goal in each half to take herself to the top of the goalscoring charts with nine to her name.
Reading FC Women meanwhile defeated Yeovil Town 3-0 to maintain their hopes of a top half place. After Brooke Chaplen had earlier seen a penalty saved by Megan Walsh, Reading took the lead on the stroke of half time through Remi Allen. Lauren Bruton added a second early in the second half and Kirsty Linnett rounded off the scoring with twelve minutes remaining (see match report).
The points were shared at Sunderland where the home side fought out a 1-1 draw with Everton. The first half was goalless but Danielle Turner gave Everton the lead within two minutes of the restart and Sunderland hit back to earn a share of the spoils when Lucy Staniforth scored direct from a corner just after the hour.
