Palace hold on to top spot
 Women's Football WPL South News - 13 Apr 2018
Crystal Palace are trying hard to stretch the pace at the top, thanks to a 5-2 victory away to Cardiff City Ladies.
Cori Williams netted twice for Cardiff but goals from Amy Green, Sarah Jones, Gemma Bryan and Ellie Stenning (2) handed Palace a fourth straight league win and kept them in pole position.
C & K Basildon meanwhile put a huge dent in the hopes of fellow title hopefuls Coventry Utd by beating them 1-0. Zoe Rushen scored the only goal of the game for C & K who stay one point behind leaders Crystal Palace and the top two are set to meet this Sunday in an important clash.
Lewes kept themselves in fourth place as they won 2-0 against Gillingham. Danielle Lane scored a goal in each half for the Rookettes to give them a second win in succession.
Portsmouth completed a quickfire double over Swindon Town by beating them for the second week in a row, this time winning 3-0. All of the goals came during the second half, Daisy McLachlan opening the scoring for Pompey with twenty minutes remaining, before they added further goals late on through Katie James and Samantha Quayle.
West Ham Utd are up into the top half for the first time this season after scoring ten times without reply past Queen's Park Rangers. Kelly Weathall hit a hat-trick for the Hammers whilst Amber Stobbs and Ellie Zoepfl each added braces, with Chantelle Mackie, Rosie Kmita and Andria Georgiou completing the tally.
