Man City to go on US tour
 Women's Football WSL1 News - 13 Apr 2018
Manchester City are delighted to announce that their title winning women's team will travel to the United States for their 2018 pre-season tour, during which they will compete in the inaugural Women's International Champions Cup.
Taking place from 27-29 July at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, the 2018 Women's International Champions Cup will see Manchester City go head-to-head with Paris St Germain (PSG) and North Carolina Courage in what promises to be an exciting meeting showcasing the best of women's football, with another opponent still to be announced.
Prior to the inaugural tournament, City will travel to Portland, Oregon from 21-26 July for a pre-tournament training camp. As part of the camp, girls from the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), the competitive league for youth female soccer players in the US, will have the opportunity to train with the team, which includes Manchester City and England captain Steph Houghton, as well as top international players from across Europe.
Manchester City are the current FA Women's Super League Champions and SSE Women's FA Cup holders. Last season, the Club competed in the UEFA Women's Champions League (UWCL) for the first time, making it to the semi finals, and this year continue to compete at the highest level, once again securing a place in the last four where they will play Olympique Lyonnais. In March 2017, US women's football star, Carli Lloyd, joined Manchester City on a short-term deal, becoming part of the City family.
Ahead of the pre-season tour, Gavin Makel, Head of Women's Football at Manchester City, commented: "Everyone at Manchester City is looking forward to this summer's pre-season tour to the US. Competing in an elite tournament is the best preparation for what will be another action-packed season for us.
"We are delighted that the tour will also allow us the opportunity to meet and connect with our growing fan base in the US, whose support is important to us all."
Steph Houghton, Manchester City captain, added: "I can't wait to visit the US with Manchester City. I've previously competed in America at the She Believes Cup and am always humbled by the incredible support of the fans out there. To have the chance to visit the US with Man City and meet all of our fans is something I know the whole team is looking forward to."
The 2018 Women's ICC schedule:
July 21-26:
Training Camp - Portland, Oregon
July 27-29:
International Champions Cup Tournament - Miami, Florida
Friday, July 27
Semi final matches

Manchester City will also host a selection of fan and community events during the pre-season tour. Details to be announced in the coming weeks.
