(Godalming won 4-2 on penalties)

Godalming Town earned a place in the Final of the John Greenacre Memorial Trophy against Ashford Town (Middlesex) with a penalty shootout victory over Islington Borough.
The Greater London League Division One side were given a real battle by their Division Two North visitors but won the shootout 4-2 to progress to the GLWFL Finals Day.
Islington could not have got off to a better start, taking the lead in the second minute. Carrie-Anne Layton delivered a free kick from midfield and Farley Morgan stole in to nod the ball past keeper Lilly Clarke. Islington looked the sharper team and Fulu Aminbula nearly added a second after powering past two defenders.
A Megan Vincer corner nearly led to an equaliser on 34 minutes, Lauren Carnell's header being well saved by Diana Nkendrim. At the other end, an inswinging Islington corner was headed off the line by Ella Chandler on 43 minutes.
The introduction of Toni West from the bench had given Godalming an extra threat and a foul on West led to the equalising goal just before the break, converted by Becky Bloor.
Ellen Maggs fired a shot just over for the visitors on the restart but Godalming gradually took command. Rebecca Munro teed up West but her header was wide on 51 minutes, then Munro headed over from another good corner delivery.
Nkendrim made a super double save on 66 minutes, denying Munro before pushing away Ellen Thomas' follow up shot. Islington got in some good positions but Clarke was well protected by her defence and the match ended in a stalemate, leading directly to a shootout from the spot.
Keeper Clarke produced a fine save from the second penalty and, with another Islington effort going wide, it was left to Vincer to convert the crucial kick and book Godalming's place in the Final.
Both teams still have title chances in their respective leagues and both will play a part on Finals Day on 20th May, Islington Borough having qualified for the GLWFL Trophy Final last week.
