Charlton Athletic need to win one of their final three matches in order to be confirmed as Southern Division Champions, after C & K Basildon went down to a 2-1 defeat away to Portsmouth.
Two first half goals from Daisy McLachlan gave Pompey the points, with Angela Addison replying for C & K.
Crystal Palace look to be in the driving seat for second place after they won 2-1 at Coventry Utd on Tuesday night. Gemma Bryan scored twice during the first half, taking her league tally for the season to 31, Maz Gauntlett reducing the arrears after the break but Palace held out for their sixteenth win of the campaign.
Lewes will finish the season in fourth place following their 2-0 success away to Gillingham. The first half was goalless but the deadlock was broken by Avilla Bergin three minutes after the restart, with Katie McIntyre sealing the win for the Rookettes midway through the second half.
Coventry Utd had earlier consolidated themselves in the top half of the table after they defeated Cardiff City Ladies 4-0, courtesy of a goal apiece from Helen Dermody, Maz Gauntlett, Jessica Lundie and Stephanie Smith.
Queen's Park Rangers look destined to finish in the bottom two after they were beaten 3-0 by Chichester City. Laura Ingram put Chichester ahead on the hour mark and they went on to add further goals through Jess Lewry and Alex Collighan.
