Rampant Hibs complete hat-trick
 Women's Football Scottish WPL News - 25 May 2018
Hibernian completed a hat-trick of victories in the Scottish Women's Premier League Cup on Sunday, but this time with an emphatic 9-0 victory over Celtic in the Final.
The holders went on the attack from the start, seeking an early goal, and it came with seven minutes on the clock when Ellis Notley volleyed in from a corner.
Hibs were then awarded a penalty after Kirsty Smith was adjudged to have been tripped by Keeva Keenan, Lizzie Arnot slotting home from the spot, and Arnot was heavily involved with the third, her cross being turned into her own net by the unfortunate Kelly Clark.
Hibernian were in rampant form against a Celtic side which sadly looked to have frozen on the day and although Rachel Donaldson had a shot blocked at the other end, Arnot netted her second just before the half hour was she tapped in the rebound after her initial header had come back off the post.
Any hopes of Celtic getting themselves back in the game after half time were firmly despatched within two minutes of the restart, Shannon McGregor scoring with a superb 20-yard volley which dipped over a helpless Kiera Gibson.
Arnot then completed her hat-trick with a long run at the Celtic defence before her shot found the net via a deflection.
Kirsten Reilly headed in the seventh from a corner, moments after coming on as a substitute, before the unstoppable Arnot broke through on goal to lob Gibson as she advanced.
Arnot, who has recently returned to the side following a cruciate ligament injury which caused her to miss last year's Euro Finals, is making up for lost time and she went nap with ten minutes remaining, scoring her fifth goal from close range.
