Having secured two promotions in three seasons, ending up in the runners-up spot last season and just two points behind title winners Leicester City Women Development, Peterborough will play their football in the Premier Division next season.
After drawing their opening match 3-3 with Northampton Town, Peterborough then put themselves up amongst the main contenders at the top of the table by winning their next four games.
Peterborough secured the league's top spot having only lost one league game this season, where they most notably went on an impressive run of twelve straight wins and therefore a 100% league record from December 2017. The run began with a 4-1 victory over AFC Leicester in the first week of December.
This naturally gave them real momentum going into the second half of the season, where they saw off title rivals, Northampton Town and Oadby & Wigston Dynamo, with two outstanding performances, recording 3-1 and 3-2 wins respectively. They made sure of winning the league title by beating Corby Town 4-0 in their final match of the season.
Peterborough are managed by Kathryn Lusk and each member of the management, coaching staff and squad have played a valuable part in the league success, with captain and striker Keir Perkins notching a respectable 27 goals in 18 league games and midfielder Jess Driscoll being recognised for her impressive performances, being named as the Division One South Player of the Season.
Peterborough United are now focused on adding to their success, as they get ready for a fresh challenge in the next step of the women's football pyramid.
